NEC Regional with ACS64 front and rear

I’m starting to see NEC Regional trains with an ACS64 on the front and back. Both pans up. Usually if an equipment move there’s two up front so this doesn’t seem like an equipment move. Not sure if this is to add power to maintain schedule or to simplify turnarounds.

Anyone know what’s going on?

These are the recently instituted trans that don't wye or loop, saving turnaround time. Amtrak doesn't have enough working cab cars, so a motor is used one both ends.
