Seen tonight - Thursday - westbound on CSX at Buffalo/Depew: several passenger cars and two cabooses on rear end of westound freight train, reporting marks were MVCX or MVLX and lettering said Massachusetts Volunteer Fire or some such thing. Coaches were real beaters - looked like old commuter coaches of some sort, wide-vision caboose on end of train looked very good, maybe somebody can shed more light on this equipment.

The equipment are portable "classrooms" and are kept at the CSX West Springfield Yard in MA. Its used to train firefighters etc for tank cars and everything else related. You can actually get inside to show the interior and how to work the equipment etc. They have I think 10 cars in total, and usually travel around the area for training.

The reporting marks are MCVX. Here are some shots of a few of their cars when they were in southern Maryland for a training seminar in the spring of 2002.
