LV C420 number 405 was one of the last LV engines in LV red!
she looked like this until recently:

( looks like thats also LV yellow (original 1964 yellowjacket scheme) showing through! )
All that LV red is a result of the D&H blue wearing away!
she was painted a solid D&H blue, in the late 70's or early 80's,
and that blue gradually wore away, until it was nearly gone, revealing the LV red underneath!
Delaware-Lackawanna in Scranton ran her this way for the last 10 years or so..

even though im sad to see the LV red gone, the new scheme is gorgeous!
