I just wanted to add that Alewife is $5 a day and you can park up to 5 days in the deck. Very easy to get to from Route 2 and there is always spots. I take the Red Line in from Alewife every day and even when I am later in the day I can usually get a stop although near the very top of the deck.

Enjoy your trip. Until recently I lived in MN territory, the Charles is not the Hudson but you will love Boston.
