A locomotive on a flatbed, traveling down the highway, gets loose and slams into a bridge, causing much damage.
(but luckily, no injuries)

Reports say its a "80 ton" loco,
appears to be a GE centercab,
and it has the number 7948 on the cab..

Can anyone ID this loco and where it was going?

David H. Hamley wrote:The loco was indeed ex-Timken 80 ton GE 7948. It was apparently en route to a new commercial owner, not a museum.

Cause appears to have been a failure of the trailer gooseneck to deck attachment.

Delivery may be "somewhat delayed."

Local news was reporting that ODOT says 50 million in damage.Ouch.Yeah the unit was being transported from(Timken Bearing) Canton Ohio to somewhere in Alabama. The only thing holding up that bridge is the locomotive.
