The topic of Amtrak's nicest stations got me thinking about how many Amtrak stations I've been too.
I'm trying to remember but here's at least one list (been to means gotten on or off the train and walked through part of the station, not just ridden through on a train or just alighted onto the platform for a quick break. So like Denver I include since when I took the CZ many years ago, we had a multi-hour wait, so we actually left the station and came back, even though we got back on the same train.)

Albany (of course :-)
Hudson
Croton-Harmon
NYP
Newark
Newark Airport
Philly 30th
Wilmington
Baltimore
BWI
New Carrolton
WAS
Schenectady
Williamsburg
Atlanta
Boston South Station
Framingham
Chicago
Denver
Jack London
LA Union Station
Flagstaff
Orlando

So by my count, 23 stations.
I have a feeling I may have missed one or two. (as I was typing this sentence I had to add at least 4 more I had originally forgotten).
I suspect there's a few more I've forgotten.

I think I need to get out more and add a few more.

EDITED TO ADD TWO:
New Haven (ok, technically, I arrived via MN, but it's an Amtrak station and I was there before it was re-opened and after)
Grand Central Terminal (mentioned below, added here for completeness).

Are you only counting stations where you've gotten on or off a train, as opposed to stations where you have been inside for some purpose other than boarding or alighting a train? And what about stations that you've been to but never involving Amtrak?

I've been to:
Old Orchard Beach
Anderson/Woburn*
Boston North Station
Boston South Station
Boston Back Bay
Framingham*
Amherst* (X)

*- been there but not for the purpose of taking Amtrak
(X) - station no longer served by Amtrak, but I was there when it was.

Does being on a train but not getting off the train count?
Does getting off the train to smoke at smoke stops count?
Does it matter if the train actually comes to a stop at the station?

As said in the original post:

been to means
* gotten on or off the train
* and walked through part of the station,
* not just ridden through on a train
* or just alighted onto the platform for a quick break.

So smoke break, unless you walked around into the station, doesn't count.
Stops, w/o getting off the train definitely don't count.
Not stopping at all, very much doesn't count. :-)

God nows how many, pre and post Amtrak, I could add for that compilation.

I've been around these parts over 75 years; retired at age 62 (big mistake: took RRTA then; should have held out to 65. Should simply have lived off capital until then. It takes seven years after taking it at 65 to be ahead of the game). "Enthusiast" during my teens and twenties. Fanning was killed "workin' for a living" within the industry.

Yes, to be clear, since this is an AMTRAK forum, I was referring strictly to Amtrak stations (or stations served by Amtrak trains to be technically accurate).
BTW, for the record, I was counting both Albany Amtrak stations as one, but I suppose you can count it as two also :-) Similar with other locations. But I was also sort of getting a feel for how much of the system I've "visited".

Looks like a hair under 5%
