The door mechanism is a standard one that CAF uses on other models. It will be fine. It's nothing like the original ones on the Boeings.

To date, cars 3900-3905, 3907-3916 have been accepted for service so 3906, 3917-3923 are in acceptance testing. Was this the truck hauled white shrink wrapped trolley that was backing up eastbound Mass Pike traffic around Worcester late Wednesday (10/21/20)?

Folding doors cannot be used with level platforms (which are necessary for speedy boarding and true accessibility) because they will hit the platform surface.Add to that that the present situation with the folding doors makes it necessary to have those problematic slide out ramps which at times get stuck on the platforms (particularly Copley). Slightly higher (really level with the car's floor) platforms would eliminate the need for these and their required maintenance.
