This photo is by Richard Pearson, and shows an EL Geep laying over at Exchange Street Yard in downtown Rochester. The gray building is Xerox HQ (Still there) and the white building is Chase Plaza (JPMorgan Chase- still there). Photo is from August 1969. I am always interested in photos of the Erie and EL in Rochester, NY... also interested in any photos taken along the Rochester Division, especially the Rochester-Avon section.

Great shot, Otto, thanks for sharing.

In terms of pinpointing the location, would this be about where Corn Hill Landing is now?

Yes, it is at or near what is now Corn Hill Landing.

Otto:

Nice shot by my old friend. Photographed the E-L Rochester-Avon several times. The E-L did a fair amount of business with the R.T. French Co. Almost every evening the train would depart Exchange St. with several TOFC loads courtesy R.T. French.

According to the April 25, 1971 EL New York Division employee timetable, the train serving Rochester was the nocturnal RC-98 from Meadville by way of Buffalo, arriving Rochester @ 6:15AM every day except Saturday. The wb train, RM-97, departed 6PM arriving Buffalo four hours later, connecting with BM-97 headed for Meadville.
