The State of Delaware wants to eliminate the use of coal for power generation within the state. They stopped using coal at a large power plant near Wilmington in the last year or so, and now only the Indian River power plant is left. There used to be four power units at Indian River, now they are down to one large one. The utility is making a large investment in pollution control equipment there so coal trains will continue to rumble through central Delaware. Electricity prices are very high in the state as a result of these policies.
