Hello,

Does anyone have information to share in regards to which sections of the DL&W mainline from Slateford JCT to Scranton yard had three tracks and which portions had four tracks during the late 1920s to the early 1950s?

Thank you for your time.

Sincerely,
Walter Conklin

I think there was 4 tracks crossing Business Rt209 in East Stroudsburg. I know it was double tracked between Tobyhana and Gouldsboro.

New observation/question....re Analomink area -

Just West of the Mill Creek Road grade crossing and on the West side of nearby Analomink Road in the open field, there is clearly ( via Google maps/imagery ) an intact tangent of unconnected track maybe 100 yards in length remarkably visible sans any brush/overgrowth via Mother Nature. It's quite a distance from the main.

Is this a remnant of the one-time yard/shops that the LACKAWANNA once had here ? If so, how/why was it left behind while everything else was ripped out ?

thanks.
