As my first episode of Remarkable Engines in months, this episode will be focusing on the little-known streamlined 4-4-0 on the Lackawanna. This locomotive was one of a few Camelbacks to be converted with a single cab, and the only 4-4-0 on the Lackawanna and in the world to be streamlined. Hope you enjoy this episode!

The live steam model of 988 (pictured at Steamtown) was built by Frank deSantis, a founding member of Adirondack Live Steamers and a Master of his craft. I donated the engine to the NPS in 2017, including a pair of large scale erection plans depicting the engine as it was modified in 1920 at Scranton with piston valves and Baker gear.

Your video tells the story of 988 well and I know Frank would have been pleased. Attached is a photo of Frank's engine under steam here in Reedville, shortly before its donation in his honor.
