Looks like CSX may be using some new power on the Hudson south of Poughkeepsie, coming north today on train 69 saw 2 SD-60'Ms sitting in the CNE yard with the plows cut for 3rd rail. No idea why they were there, havent seen widecabs that far south since SENH ran in Conrail days.

Got the chance to speak to the the engineer of B749 last Saturday evening, 4/11 on the Hudson line while they were stopped at CP46 awaiting a northbound Amtrak due to the track work. He said he was told that day by a supervisor that they were going to be placing SD60's on the Hudson line and slowly phasing out the GP38-2 even though he said they were still holding up rather well.

The SD60M will replace the SD40-2 very shortly, the GP38-2 will be replaced by gensets.it seems the gensets had some problems and were sent west for some reason,i know height was a issue but i heard there were others.the sd60m passed a MN inspection last week, the plan is to have them go back to selkirk then come south on a road train but no date as of yet.does anyone know if the sd60m have air conditioning?
