I saw a white center cab diesel locomotive parked in a yard next to South Station last weekend. Someone said that it is a Plymouth "Critter" used for MBTA ROW work (04443). Does anyone know anything about it or have photos?

Yes, it is a Plymouth. 20 tonner, 700 hp, built in 1987. It's currently being used on the Red Line and kept at Cabot Yard, where you saw it. It has also seen use on the Orange Line... several years ago, it was a regular sight sitting outside Wellington Carhouse.

The 04443 is actually a 50 Ton unit, Model CR8.

Builder's number is 7450 with a build date of 10/87.
