This question may be better answered in the Reading Company forum in the Fallen Flags section
because these Blueliner MU cars were rebuilt and renumbered in the mid 1960s before SEPTA was
created under a PSIC (Passenger Service Improvement Company) contract with the City of Philadelphia...

I recall that a limited number of these MU cars - I recall there being nine - were rebuilt with air
conditioning and what I would like to know why more of these cars were not rebuilt with this
option - was it a experiment of sorts or was the added PSIC funding not there then?

Some of these rebuilt cars served the former RDG MU routes for up to 25 years into the SEPTA
era and was a good move to improve service during the 1960s decade...

I believe all except 774 have been rebuilt by Reading and Northern into the 210-214 series. And yes 9130 is still rusting away at Wayne Jct yard.

From another forum, 9115 and 9119 have been sold by RCTHS to the Knoxville & Holston River Railroad Co. in Tennessee for tourist train service. Apparently 9115 was moved a few months ago and has already been repainted. The second car on this particular train is allegedly an ex-CNJ coach. It's nice to know that these 80+ year old cars will continue to soldier on for a while longer.
