what kind of freight traffic goes through Ayer, Ma, at the T station?

mixed freights, and last time I was there I saw a short van train on one of the legs of the wye.

Also might see CSXT's Q293/Q274 not too far down the road. (Auto rack train between Ayer auto facility and CP 45 @ Worcester).

Other than commuter trains, you will get the local switchers working Pepsi, NEMCO loop, Fox Packaging, the Ford facility, Veryfine, etc. CSX brings autoracks up to Ayer, then Guilford brings them down to Ford. The NEMCO loop has a large grain mill with a little switcher of their own.

Through freight can be Guilford trains from East Deerfield to Portland ME, there are NS coal trains, etc. And the pig train AYMO/MOAY is made up at Ayer, usually in the PM.

If you go to NErail, you can see my many photos of Ayer. Some days, the palce is dead. Some days, you see lots of nice stuff. A scanner really helps. There is a group who go to Ayer Sunday mornings that have been going there for many years. They can answer questions as well!

Can anyone else provide info?
