42 (29) was annulled west of Harrisburg. Passengers were bused to Harrisburg, bused to Lancaster, and put on 652. The equipment ran east with an NS SD70ACe to Harrisburg and ran as an extremely delayed (and virtually empty) revenue section from Harrisburg to NY.

30 (28) ran with an NS leader LHF from west of Pittsburgh to Washington
I am so glad this is happening now and not in July...

Supposedly yesterday or today there was a derailment in Burns Harbor on NS Chicago line and MIchigan trains were cancelled with bus replacement.

Too bad theres not a dedicated passenger mainline that is newly double tracked to the parallel and with multiple crossovers to the NS line. If only... we could name it someting like the "shore line southern" or "chicago south bend and shorline" or something clever, too. Maybe even electrify it some day in 1926.

May 13th evening 13 cars on the ground at CP 485 Burns Harbor ... which is about two miles east of NS's only connection with the NICTD line. If the location is correct and there was a clear path to the west of CP 487 Amtrak theoretically could have used the slow speed connection to NICTD and run on Track 2 to CP 36.0 then through the yard to the Amtrak Michigan line. That would require qualified pilots (probably from CSS due to the use of the yard tracks). A lot of moving parts to line up to create a re-route. NS had a track open by morning.
