I was out in West Philly last weekend railfanning the route 15 and went over one block from Lancaster Ave. to Merion St which parallels the Amtrak Septa viaduct from Zoo to Overbrook. I tried to get some mid day pictures of eastbound trains as close as possible to where that old 52nd St station was. Can someone tell me asbout that station, when it was last used, why not now and might it ever be reopend. Is the upper most portion of the viaduct still used ? There must have been some good shots taken from that location back in PRR. days. Anyone have some ?
