Good day railroad fans of north america, I´m from Czech republic and I´m mostly interested in central europian trains, but i like other railways too especialy post SSSR republics and north america.
Recently I got HO Revell(Monogram) HO kit of Hudson and now I started. I was searching long time for some informations(thanks a lot for informations about this type of loco and info about NYC) and I finally got some in this forum, but it´s not eoungh :( . I found many old nice photos, but I lot of them can use only as painting material. My problem is simplicity of kit, which I wanna upgrade, but I haven´t got a lot of photos or blueprints for build. I searched a lot of galeries in flicker or webs with photos like that, but nothing specific. I was trying to find some photos of survived at least similar locos, but unexpectedly I again found nothing :( . Please I think this forum could be my last change to get some detailed photos of Hudson, I dont know what back offer only which i can offer is few photos of Ústí nad Labem public transport and a little more photos of czech locos.
Here I post some images of this kit, yesterday I started with works on tender... I cutted of the ladders. :-D
From stuff necessary for build I´ve got nice blueprint of Hudson by M. Miller and photos from here, but as I said it´s mostly useless for building : (
Thanks for any help. Železniční fanda z Ústí nad Labem v České republice.

Thats a nice kit!
I used to have one..
(I think the kit dates from the 1980's)

You wont find any photos of an existing NYC Hudson..because none exist.
they were all scrapped..

you can find a ton of photos here:

http://www.rr-fallenflags.org/nyc/nyc-steam.html

Your model is of the J3a Hudson, the "top of the line" in Hudson evolution..
those are road numbers 5405-5454.

Post some new photos when your model is complete! :P

Thanks a lot for link the ton of useful photos :-D
btw. I found some (I think very similar) loco No.170 L-1a in Museum of Transportation, St. Louis, MO. I think it´s got same coal car as my kit (only with diferent boggies) and similar undercarriage as J-3a (is that posible ?). I searched internet but only photos I´ve found was by normal museum visitors, smaller exception are few photos in this link http://www.flickr.com/photos/dustinholm ... otostream/ but there´s not any detailed photos of space under engine-driver stand or front´s of coal car. I think those photos are only problem which I´ve got in build. So please if anybody have some photos of it, please provide mi it would be very helpful thank you.
btw. here are links of my others railway kits

You can find some more photos of NYC Hudsons here:

http://www.railarchive.net/nyccollection/index.html

I recall reading that the NYC and NKP Hudsons (4-6-4 wheel arrangement) were very similar in dimensions however I'm unsure about the tenders.
