Because it's better for them to rot there than out on the main with passengers on board - as they were frequently doing in their in-service lives.

the cars still in deadline are slated to go to Ohio for scrapping and are called Budd SPV's they have not been used since 1993 and were very unreliable.

The ones with the 1400-series numbers were demotored more than twenty years ago more or less making them straight coaches (as opposed to motored RDC's). They haven't been used in years- mostly because of their manually-operate doors and rought ride.

A bunch of SPVs have been moved to the tracks just west of the passenger platforms at Harmon. Finally getting ready to be removed from the property, perhaps?

Or just wasteing more space because they dont know what to do with them. OR there so bad they may actually cost more to scrap then keep around.

Juniorman unless you have facts don't speculate, The cars were supose to gom to go to NYS&W historical society but they declined, the cars are now going to Frontier Industrial recycling in Ohio.
When ?? towards end of contract when the M-1's are just about all gone.
