Where to photograph in south Atlanta?

Hi,

I am a railfan from England and will be visiting my son in Newnan, south Atlanta at the end of April. I want to get some photos of American freight locos but trains seem to be a bit infrequent down the line past Newnan. Is the exit from Fairburn yard a much better location? Could you recommend any other busy but safe locations around Atlanta?
