I am planning a trip to the area in the Fall and am researching some of the big grades in the area. I belive the ruling grade against loads south of Big Stone Gap is the climb up the "Goose neck" between Speers Ferry and Watkins 1.6-1.8% , please correct me if I am wrong.

Now how about between Big Stone Gap and St.Paul? Between what points are the hills and what are the grades. I have seen some really great pictures online near Banner on the approach to Little Tom Tunnel. Are these just loaded NS trains on the Easbound approach to this location. The spot I am refering to is this http://www.railpictures.net/viewphoto.php?id=164004 what is the grade here?

I guess most importantly what is the train frequency.....

Any info whould be great....
