M427 crew ran out of time at Hill yd. about 08:30? today. At 13:48 M427 was given a Form D WOR 1 to Burncoat.
D1 then told them " there will be a live recrew at Still River, and a taxi will take you to Burncoat to pilot M426 east."

Looks like either 426 or 427 ripped up the Worcester main pretty good down south of Barbers based on the picture I was sent.

There is a picture in the worcester telegram
All 3 locomotives on the ground but upright
I think it is 427 since the train is heading west
Location looks to me to be at the switch where it goes back to double track before the tunnels
Train was travelling single track to double track

Looks that way. Track to P&W torn up. Crews now working on the track to CSX that the train was (supposed to be) on. They moved the 427 with its 3rd unit (482) back to New Bond-Burncoat section where it sits now. The first 2 units got re-railed and brought to Worcester.

0734 and 0739/04-16-2024 XNG noise for Temple and Shrewsbury Streets, but none as of posting for Burncoat so mebbe a tie-down too long to fit New Bond to Burncoat.

So much for the "too long" guess....
Ditto on the commentary.

Hello,
I've been trying to catch some rail action around Clinton/Lancaster/Sterling area but I seem to never be able to get the timing right. Any advice on when I should be out and about?
thanks!

Lately, the "Precision" part of PSR has taken a bit of a holiday on the Worcester Sub. 427 seems to be a predawn phenomenon, and 426 can have a wide range of times.
All I can suggest -- depending on your location and how well you can receive the Paxton antenna -- is to wait for D-1 to issue an order for Burncoat to WOR1 or other easterly point. There are bunches of situations that can vary the transit time for the 12 and more miles, so patience plus a sense of humor would be good take-alongs.

Thanks jaymac!
How do I listen in on the Paxton antenna? I have a radio but I don't know any of the locally relevant frequencies.
