How were the trolley scenes filmed in "A Christmas Story?" The producers did a good job showing Cleveland trolleys at Terminal Tower and other places, but how did they do it?

Some of the exteriors were shot in Toronto, including the Christmas tree purchasing scene which features an actual red PCC. Not sure about the Cleveland scenes though.
