At the end of the movie, when Marty gets back to 1985, but the DeLorean is smashed by the freight train, which railroad to those engines belong to?

Ventura County in California. Owned at one time ex-SP Alco S6 switchers in a pretty yellow and blue paint scheme.

Oh.

What about the steamer that pushes the DeLorean to 88 MPH on the tracks?

I remember reading this somewhere and may be innaccurate.

That steamer is still around and is a preserved museum piece.

The engine is the famed #3 of the Sierra Railroad in Jamestown, CA. This engine is probably most famous as serving as the "Hooterville Cannonball" on the Petticoat Junction & Green Acres series.

This locomotive was also seen on numerous other television shows over the years including "The Wild, Wild West", "The Iron Horse", "Tales Of Wells Fargo" and "Casey Jones".
