NS is working on the South Street grade crossing. The rails have been removed and it looks like it might take a few days to put in the new panel track and fix the crossing. Will trains detour?

Question is, detour where? Over the Lehigh Line?

No, down Transit through Suffern, like the old days............

When there is a will to get the job done properly and quickly, it can be
done. The Florida East Coast down here runs upwards of a dozen trains
each way a day over a single track line with frequent sidings. I have seen
them rip out an old piece of track and put down a new piece of track over
a busy crossing within hours and there is not a suitable detour route
needed or available either for that matter.
There is no reason that the crossing involved can't be completed during a
day if they have enough equipment and people there to do the job.
