Switcher Locomotive Battery Sizes

Does any know if a switcher locomotive such as a SW1500 would take the same size battery as a freight locomotive such as a SD40. From looking at the battery boxes on the back of a switcher and the nose of a SD40, it looks like they are different sizes.
