from Jan 24, 2021You can also go to Google Earth and view it in different years (obviously early ones are not that distinct). Wish Google would have an option to take all the different years and produce an animated GIF.
Thought I read the word "abatement" somewhere. Perhaps asbestos?
I agree, but that is what I was told. I guess eastbound trains would crossover twice from track 3 to 2, then track 2 to 1 at Nassau_1 before the Mineola station. Seems awkward, but then, a train crossing from track 3 destined for Oyster Bay would block all three tracks anyway.
Hee is the link: http://www.trainsarefun.com/lirr/3rd%20 ... roject.jpg
This thought suddenly popped into my head... what will the track layout (turnouts and crossing diamond) be with the two track Oyster Bay branch coming off the now three track mainline? One possibility: Mineola 1.jpg Don't think I've seen an answer to this post. What is the planned track arrangement?
Very strange... when I right-click and copy the link it shows as you expect. I can also right-click and pick Open image in new tab (using Chrome)and it works. Yet clicking on it would fail. Until now...now it's working again! My guess would be a glitch in the board software. Is it working for others?
Weird..I remember seeing it earlier. Now I see a broken image symbol.
Okay, so just to confirm, the stairs was where the red line is:
At top of stairs a little to the left was the door and ramp to the sub.Confused... the door and ramp was on the second floor?
I know some folks around here have been inside Nassau Tower (i was too but forgot one key point). We've seen two possibilities for the interior stairs. One is along the south wall, the other at the west end. Which is right?
Looking through various photos of Nassau Tower I've scraped from the net, I noticed that in this photo named "Section Shanty-Planked Main St. Xing-Mineola - 1952 (J. P. Sommer)" there does not seem to be a third rail for the eastbound track. Anyone know the story? Were they just in the pro...
I'm looking for a photo of the interior of Nassau Tower showing the interior stairs. Everyone typically shoots the panel... And if anyone has plans for the tower , that would also be great.
Oh true. I agree... refurbing a G-5 is much more worthwhile. Was just wondering why no one started a go-fund-me or similar.
Just curious.. how much would it cost to pick-up and move Nassau Tower?
What is the purpose of the red signal to the upper left of the top position light? Stop for orders?
