There is a sign north of the Deland station on the rout. . Says end CFR begin CSX. That should end all this incorrect speculation.

Electrification in VA ? Think this thing thru. Potholes work is not an exact science. First find any buried cables. Is there any ? Seems like all the new locos and motors are all providing HEP from inverters. That may not be true for the DC traction motored locos some agencies ordered in the near past. 2 locos on every train except the Builder in winter provides enough redundancy . That is enough IMHO. As I understand it the actual failure of the Nippon car has not been disclosed. Was it straight crush, torsional, angle, or some other type ?

I would have thought the 12 K.V cables are feed cables for the nominally 11 K.V cat cable. The track is your Neutral return path , which would be tied to Earth. For the next few days we better support an Amtrak bailout. Call and write all 3 of your congress critters and the chairmen of various transportation committees. If Amtrak is not bailed out there will not be a chance to get this route Amtrak in the future.

Tadman is correct. I have noted the many components that are common. What is even more important is that component connections are now common across all equipment. That way when the present inventory of a part is used up a new and hopefully better part will fit right
