Thanks for the reports!
The latest rail train was west thru Auburn yesterday afternoon after dropping rail in the Belgrade area
What speeds to you think D1 will be a year from now?
Track equipment is beginning to assemble at MP1
The 3rd rail train for D1 will be arriving in Waterville later today
The track capacity maps are very interesting
I was reading the new revised Maine state rail plan released last month the other day. Now I can't find it but it says they want full doublestack clearance from Ayer to Mattawamkeag within 4 years. I'll keep looking for the document
Another rail train arrived for the NMJ-Keag section the other day. Supposedly more on the way. Wonder if this is all grant funded so far? The grant probably won't cover all the work CSX wants to do up there this year
Was told one of the paper machines in Jay was being disassembled for an overseas buyer. Another person told me one of the machines was going to be running 4 weeks? after the expected closing date of the mill.
It won't be until next year sometime as they still have track work to do
Photos posted on Facebook show new hotbox? detectors (metal huts) to either replace existing ones or add ones in new locations like east of Waterville.
Stone is being dropped west from Keag, ties have been placed along the ROW but not installed yet
This makes a lot of sense. Would be fun if it actually happened! LOL
