I guess I'm going to have to film the "musketball."
NGEC May documentation had a quick blurb about the MetroNorth Chargers. The first two shells are ahead of schedule. Also noted that CDOT executed their option, with a 2027 delivery date. There was mention that there may be difficulties testing the third rail equioment at Pueblo. There is track with ...
The entire plan got screwed up because of Covid. The project was based and built on present and future ridership projections as they existed before Covid. But because of the Pandemic several things happened that affected the project which could not have been predicted. One is with many people worki...
FWIW LIRR and MetroNorth have both seen increases in ridership since this discussion started.

Weekend ridership is at pre-covid levels but weekday ridership is still only just above two-thirds.
Do we know what the latest information is on the procurement of the M9A's?
On Friday, May 26, 2023, did Train 16, the Cannonball, travel on the Central Branch? I see trains through Massapequa randomly, but around 5 p.m. Friday, I saw one or two electric trains eastbound through stations on Track 1. They did not stop. (Of course, my perception could be wrong.) They went vi...

An LIRR train somehow hit the side walkway of one of the east river tunnels during the am commute.
The only thing I like from this article (that has disappeared) was using Amfleets to supplement LIRR service out on the forks. For the same reason of the longer trip times from Penn but also from the fact that LIRR woefully needs more equipment. The article kinda just reads like rail fan nonsense th...
I don't see why they wouldn't be. They are inspected and updated and maintained. Budd Metroliners were literally designed with a 150mph MAS so operating at 125 is well below design spec.
A benefit that's overlooked is the ski crowds and pocono resort crowds that come from NYC. A ton of people would love to not be stuck on i80 and would like to just sit back and relax. Add in the increased connections from MetroNorth when they stsrt going to Penn Station and there's some serious inte...
In an era when they should be trying to encourage as much ridership as possible, they shouldn't be designing the schedules to exclude certain ridership groups. That being said, there are a bunch of bus connections available at Patchogue, and I'm sure there's people from the central and western sect...
These trains were designed so that people that are not commuters would not be interested in using them. That's why there's no connections at Speonk.

The biggest constraint is deconflicting with NJ Transit commuter trains. Rebuilding the cutoff seem...
