4-The mid 1970s vintage "Chestnut Street Transitway" was unfortunately a problem practically from the beginning. Search "Chestnut Street Transitway History" and one can find articles written about this failed mass transit experiment and how it never met expectations. In the late...

The interesting part is this (emphasis added by me): WHEREAS, the purchase of 113 new Multilevel III Vehicles, consisting of 58 Power Cars, 33 Cab Cars, 16 Trailer Cars and six (6) Restroom-equipped Trailer Cars , will allow NJ TRANSIT to modernize and improve the versatility and reliability of the ...

The Red Lion plant used to be at this location with a connection to the current SEPTA West Trenton line just east of Philmont station. Check it out.

Here we go again: AT&T Station will now be known as NRG Station. AT&T is out. NRG is in. SEPTA has approved changing the name of AT&T Station, the southern terminus of the Broad Street subway, to NRG Station. The subway stop, which serves the stadium complex, previously was known as the ...

It would also be much less of an issue if the could reactivate the eastern upper level concourse and the stairs to N 30 St. There's another concourse at the bottom of the stairwells on the east side of the platforms? I thought those were emergency exits? If they are, God forbid an emergency happen ...

I've clocked a set of Silverliner IVs at around 90 mph and a set of Silverliner Vs around 94 mph on an express run up the NEC to Torresdale. While the AEM-7s are designed for 110 operation, they never get that high since the coaches are only cleared for 100 in pull mode and 90 in push mode (from wha...

I thought SEPTA ran one AEM to Trenton in the PM rush, but I heard they pulled some out so I may be late. The PP set on the Trenton Line used to be 9745 in the PM, and 9724 in the AM. Those were pulled effective the January 14 schedule. I'm sure that when we get our sprinters we'll end up seeing so...

Thanks for your reply. To make your list make sense I will have to down load every timetable an search for those specific train numbers, that will take a bit of time. In place of that I was hopping someone could say which lines have how many, say 1 or 2 trains, and if they deadhead back as soon as ...

I asked about the PP assignments back in January. They can be found here.

Interesting that the gates seem to keep the “theme” of each station—Jefferson’s gates have the tiled designs that look like the tiles on the wall of the station, and Suburban’s gates are painted a brass color. A nice touch by SEPTA. I visited Suburban Station today, and the gates do look nice with ...

Pretty sure two AEMs are just out for repairs right now. Normally, I would assume that. Except I asked the conductor, who replied "No more bombers." If not for that, I wouldn't be asking "Where are they now?" The only assumption I have is that they are now delegated to a run on ...

So 9724 and 9745 are no longer PP sets. Which runs are the PP sets now relegated to?

And they would have done it for FREE. I wonder how much they paid for someone to use WordArt on the side of a locomotive?
