I'm not really new to scanning, but I am wanting to learn more about how the radio systems work. I am getting a new scanner (Pro-97) soon and I want to know how to get the most out of it. Any good websites for reference? I've been to radioreference, and that is good, but is there a more detailed site?

Thanks.

This is a gov't. FCC site, so it won't tell you what freq. is road, dispatch, etc., but you can find what freqs. are being used in your area by filling the form out.

For railroading, I usually just do 'Site/Freq.' search, and then an 'All Services' search of 159.0 - 162.0 in a specific county, state on the next page. You will get ALL freqs. in that range though whether RR or not.
