Reading train numbering system

I'm looking to model a small portion of the Reading and I'm wondering what type of numbering system they used. Also while not part of the real system I'm modelling from Hagertown to Harrisburg what numbers do you think they would have used for trains between those towns.

This will give you all the trains operating between Hagerstown and Harrisburg, at least in 1970.
