I remember reading that the BL&E acquired a number of ex-PRR F7s in the 1960s. Does anyone know what happened to them? I apologize for the probable stupidity of this question.

I checked my copy of The Bessemer & Lake Erie Railroad 1869-1969 by Roy C. Beaver. No mention in the roster of any ex-PRR F units ever being acquired. The B&LE F cab units numbered from 701 through 728 and "B" units numbered from 701B through 726B. All were purchased new from EMD between June of 1950 and February of 1953. 22 of the units were subsequently sold to the B&O in 1962.

I used to railfan the B&LE in the late 1960's/early 1970's and the only leased power I ever recall seeing on the line were some ex-C&O Baldwins.

Perhaps there is some confusion as IIRC the PRR did lease some F-units from the B&LE c. 1960's. They were in use out of Ashtabula and Cleveland.
