Even so, what's so fascinating about them. Not to mention you entitled this thread "unique perspective" even though there is nothing unique about that perspective at all. Any person on the train looking out of the windows on that side would see the exact same thing.

Perhaps this will clear things up:
UNIQUE: Adjective
1. existing as the only one or as the sole example; single; solitary in type or characteristics: a unique copy of an ancient manuscript.
2. having no like or equal; unparalleled; incomparable: Bach was unique in his handling of counterpoint.
3. limited in occurrence to a given class, situation, or area: a species unique to Australia.
4. limited to a single outcome or result; without alternative possibilities: Certain types of problems have unique solutions.
5. not typical; unusual: She has a very unique smile.

PERSPECTIVE: Noun
noun
1. a technique of depicting volumes and spatial relationships on a flat surface. Compare aerial perspective, linear perspective.
2. a picture employing this technique, esp. one in which it is prominent: an architect's perspective of a house.
3. a visible scene, esp. one extending to a distance; vista: a perspective on the main axis of an estate.
4. the state of existing in space before the eye: The elevations look all right, but the building's composition is a failure in perspective.
5. the state of one's ideas, the facts known to one, etc., in having a meaningful interrelationship: You have to live here a few years to see local conditions in perspective.
6. the faculty of seeing all the relevant data in a meaningful relationship: Your data is admirably detailed but it lacks perspective.

Nice shot Sully. I was just reading a thread in the archives relating to graffiti and I must say, I've always been a fan (when its thought provoking, and not on a train, bridge, etc).

Has anyone ever noticed the huge "PK" tag on very tall billboard somewhere between Newark and NYC? There are quite a few PK tags around, in places that make you think "how'd he get there?" Sadly, he also decided to tag the side of the Raritan River NEC Bridge (looks like crap).

I am a fan of graffiti just about anywhere. The garbage scribbled stuff is boring but anything else catches my eye. I also don't buy that all graffiti is gang related. I know some taggers personally and I assure you it's not gangland stuff. Vandalism, yes. Run for the hills, no.

As for PK KID. PK & KID are actually two different people. Just like ILAD & OMEN, which are commonly found together. Speaking of ILAD, he tagged almost every Comet V vestibule I saw for months in 2009 by writing above the emergency door release and two streaks on the door. DZEL, LOSER, NAKS... part of the AIDS crew (And It Don't Stop). There is also the other common group called ADHD crew. Other popular Jersey tags are FARO (the mummies), NTEL, NARK (has a full mural tag in pink letters on a covered hopper commonly found in Hillburn Yard. Apparently turned himself in a few months ago, but I'm told still writes), TACOE (sometimes as $0.63TACOE), SCAR (not tagging anymore, so I'm told), REVS (no longer tags and hard to find his work untouched), CDC (huge tag by Portal Bridge), RIME, NEW POLICE, HUSH47 (an oldie), SAPE (relatively new) HUEMAN, FALSE, NRAW, ALSO, ASK, UNCLE SEX, GOYA (the stick figure monster that used to be at the Lincoln motel by Newark Broad), SWINE, DRUNKONE (commonly found with NARK tags in the Paterson area) and so many more.

Did I miss any? I'm sure I did. Its so hard to keep up. New writers pop up every day. Old pieces get covered. Some writers stay local to certain areas, some are wide spread. There is so much along the corridor and its been a long time since I've been that way.

I'm still waiting for ad BANKSY piece to show up in Jersey.

Sully, I feel the same way about graffiti. I've seen some of those tags, but to be honest I've never heard of many of them. BANKSY in Jersey? Haha that would be great.

There was a guy here in Middlesex County a year or two ago who had a bunch of cool tags, but a lot of them seem to now be covered up. They all started off with "BECAUSE...", some were just that, and some were longer messages such as: Because I got high (on the top of an overhead highway sign), Because I got stuck in traffic (on a Jersey Barrier), and Because I'm reclaiming my tax dollars (on one of those sound barrier walls). Great stuff. One of the things that makes living in Jersey interesting! Has anyone here seen the now deteriorating mural under the West Ave overpass of the Chemical Coast in Sewaren? A lot of cool music related stuff on there, but sadly it seems like its getting painted over little by little.

GOZE is very common around New Brunswick and Highland Park.

Yes I forgot to mention GOZE. I've seen those tags since I was a little kid 15-20 years ago. Haven't seen any of them recently.

There is a really cool wall in NB that seperates Route 18 from a bike path and the river that is now a 2 mile long wall of graffiti, when it was opened to artists it was billed as "the largest graffiti mural of its kind".

I saw that guy's work right after they rehabbed the Church St. runner overpass over the Coast Line main. They've since painted over it I believe, but I think the one that was there was "Because...wouldn't you like to know?" Engineers can maybe verify this.

Also over in Goldberg's yard?(the yard next to track 2 just east of RIVER) I always got a laugh out of the "Motherf!@#$%^ Tea Party!!!" tag.

I have. The one on the NJ 18 signage on US 1 northbound was removed after many years, and guess what, three months later...its got GOZE again.

That graffiti wall on 18 in New Brunswick is fun, but I get a slight nervous back there.
