Glenwood's trains are spread out fairly evenly throughout the day; but late afternoon-evening-overnight-early mornings are generally busier. There's usually a lull from late morning to late afternoon. Spring-summer-fall trackwork east, west, or north of Glenwood will impact arrivals/departures. Usually, Glenwood's only silent for about an hour before something starts moving. Train numbers are even east, odd west and north. Glenwood Yard is fairly "friendly" for train watching/photography. Railfans/photographers are usually ignored so long as they stay off CP property and remain on public roads, which are in close proximity to the yard tracks. The east-west main lines have MN State Highway 55 within a stone's throw for many miles either side of Glenwood. The north-south main has various highways nearby (out of sight) between Glenwood and Thief River Falls, MN.
