I was on an inbound Green line.

Out my window, I saw other trains going very slowly through the junction while mine was waiting an unusually long time for signal clearance.

As my train went through, I noticed a number of workers in safety vests standing to one side.

Anyone know what the problem was? Were they working the switches manually?

First, I know nothing of what happened this morning. But have you noticed there are many signals all over the Loop that are wrapped because they are not in service yet?? So that means that there is a lot of work to do. A new inerlocking control is being installed also. So expect delays, expect workers on the tracks, but I don't think there is anyone on this forum who can tell you day by day what's happening...just know that when the signals are unwrapped, the work's probably done. And don't we still have the trackwork to be done on the west and south sides of the Loop??

FWIW, back to normal this morning.
