MofW near NHV

There have been several rails (maybe 6) laid next to the tracks at state street for at least six months now. This morning a crane on the tracks moved one rail from one side of the pile to the other. Why would they do this? Any what are these rails for? There was also a lot of MofW equipment in the Wye in OSB this morning.

On an unrelated note, 139, pulling the vermonter out of NHV today looked like a steam engine, there was so much smoke pouring from it.

well the state street question would be better asked on the metro north forum seeing how that is still mncr terriroty but it is for track replacment

as for the mow tie replacement alot of bad ties
