Over the past few Fridays on the BNSF, I've noticed some very interesting equipment shuffles which aren't done Monday-Thursday.
Outbound trains 1239 and 1255 will swap sets. Train 1239 uses a 7 car set, on Fridays it goes to 8 cars with two engines. Train 1255 will get 1239's 7 car set. From 1239's initial 3:18pm departure, this train also does 1276/1275/1290 (deadhead)/1291. Makes sense to keep the longer set with protect power running through the evening.
Train 1243 (10 cars) usually gets an F40 for power, but gets an MP36 on Friday. In addition to the Friday evening runs which is done with 6 cars, this set is sometimes used with all 10 cars over the weekend.
