Dam Joe, thats a nice roster you got there..
you gotem all. minus the NYA ones that they did not want posted for one reason or another.

103 was in LIC on 9/1, and also I saw 107 on 6/30. So it is not always that 100 sees service there. Just to add on your posting JT.

Typically, the 100 is most often in LIC and the 103/107 are up in Richmond Hill as the drill engine, but of course as Neil stated they swap them out occasionally. Same thing could go for the Harold Protects. Sometimes a 1500 is used to go down there if the protects are in the shop.

To add on to the roster in case anyone is wondering, here is the list of NYAR units.

SW1001:
101: In service
105: In service
106: In service

MP15AC:

159: In service, restricted to yards, Bushwick and Bay Ridge

GP38-2:

268: In service
270: In service
271: In service

SW1200:

L&I 9373: In service

You'll occasionally see 159 as a bitch unit in a stone train consist. :P

Why is 159 restricted to yard service?

MU'able at only one end and has no ASC.

What happened to the ASC in 159, and why can it only m.u. at one end?

It's most likely that way because it's not properly maintained. The shop mechanic in Fresh Pond said that the 159 will receive 12 new power assemblies after the 151 is done and I guess since a big upgrade like that is being done to it, it will be fixed up for road service.

As for the MU Hoses on the Hood end of 159....

Prior to the rehab work on the Bushwick Branch, the plow of 159 was continually hitting a switch guide (written up several times), until one day the plow had been sufficiently damaged and was being limped back to FP (as ordered) when it struck the ground at the first crossing East of Fonda Runaround, completely shearing the bolts which held the plow to the engines, and snapping the MU Pipes, which were never fixed.

In addition she spits more than the working girls on the branch. (...oil that is.) Such that the windshields need to be thoroughly wiped down at the begining of each shift and usually again after hauling the loads from WMX.

Finally and for whatever reason...she is quite particular about being MU'd with the 9373, such that they can only go cab-to-cab. If you hitch the 9373 hood end to the 159 cab, pppftt....the 159 shuts down.

As for being a "mainline Bitch" tushy, she is still Queen of the Bush
