They have options for 80 Rotem coaches. They are exercising about 40, the rest expire at the end of the year. But they don't have the budget to exercise the remaining options since the state is spending all it's money displacing tourists with illegals. If they let these slip it will be years before they can order new cars and the cost will be higher, although maybe next time they can figure out how to get federal grants.

calm down

you want a CR stop every 10 feet and want Beacon Park back open for a layover.....helping the poor right? The CR is to bring outside folk into town and leave their cars home not in Boston.....

the CR isn't the subway

North side rotem list May 30 2024 8:00 AM
1801
1808
1809
1811-Veterans Unit
1819
1821
1824

Also, I don't see how "the CR isn't the subway" and etc relates to ordering the second 40 car option.

1822 is south now. Btw, I believe what 1050 meant by saying the commuter rail isn’t a subway is that we don’t need stops bunched close together. I’d say for each town, one or two spread out is appropriate. There is the max I would do. Any more stops higher than 3 is excessive. This is just my opinion and I know it doesn’t have to do with rotems, but I thought I would comment based off of that. Btw, 1819 and 1826 are back from being spares. I wonder if they were getting much needed repairs or if it was their turn to be spares. Can’t really answer that since I don’t work for the railroad.

1834 is also back. By the way, does anyone have any info on North Side New Rotem test trains? I heard 1859 was testing on a 3 car bilevel set on the Lowell Line 5/29 and I'd like to catch it if it happens to run again. 1826 was in for repairs iirc but not sure about 1819.

I saw 1859 sitting in readville mid afternoon today. Couldn’t see the rest as trees were blocking it.

You can add 1802 to the north side list. FYI, 1858 was only north for the Celtics extra. It’s not in revenue service up north.

I caught my first north side train with 3 bi-levels yesterday. Based on time and location, I think it was train 324 inbound to North Station on the Lowell Line.
