Lansdale crossing gates

For a question raised on Operations ... under General Railroad Discussion, does anybody know when the manual gates at Lansdale were changed to automatic and the elevated control shanty removed?

The signals were cut over on October 5 2007

Where is the watch box now? A SEPTA museum, or maybe someone’s backyard garden, or ….

P: The Borough of Lansdale was slated to receive and preserve the watchtower after the October 2007
removal of the structure by SEPTA B&B. A mention in local media was that it was to be placed for use
and/or on display at Lansdale Memorial Park (East Main and South Line Streets - 1/2 mile E of Lansdale
Station) at a later date. Not sure if the Borough of Lansdale ever followed through on this...MACTRAXX
