Hello, please don't flame me for this post, but I was reading on the forum and I saw that ALP46A 4643 has been OOS since superstorm sandy. Can someone confirm this?

Wow, I guess that means it will never run again and will likely be scrapped.

Might be a warranty claim for the builder BBD Germany,as that unit was not yet accepted for service when Sandy hit.
Not sure if it was "written off" yet. might get stripped for usable parts before scrapping .

Not necessarily. 6005 was a parts cars for over ten years before it was reactivated. Anything is possible.

All ALP46As (4629-4664) were delivered and accepted between early 2010 and May 2011.

I recently saw 6005 in service on the NJCL on an AM rush train (probably 3224)

NJT had an RFP out for cylinder head work on AL45-DP's prime movers, which are based off of Cat's biggest class 8 truck engine.
Maybe this was the first unit that had the work done!
