On Friday, April 21st,....an announcement was made, that the Black River & Western Railroad and the Maryland & Delaware Railroad have formed a new company to do business called the Chesapeake and Delaware, LLC.. Under this new
company called the Chesapeake and Delaware, they have put together a new railroad called the Dover & Rockaway River Railroad, which has submitted bids to Morris County to operate the D&R, Chester and the High Bridge branches.
This new Dover & Rockaway River Railroad may be part of that company X, that is looking to operate the Washington Secondary and Totowa Industrial under lease from Norfolk Southern....stay tuned, this is getting very interesting..

As it stands now Chesapeake and Delaware,LLC is a non carrier. No STB approval is needed to organize upper management into this "alliance".
Also, correct me if I am wrong, but this might be the first time since the county purchased the lines that a carrier other than M&E has placed a bid on these county lines.

Perhaps the M&E needs the room on home rails for the stuff they have stored on the County owned branches.......

Ran under the symbol H0N. We moved a RV tonner plus a crane to Boonton.

Did anybody see today's H02 to Washington? They apparently had a New Jersey Transit Arrow III EMU on the rear.

HO2 usually goes in there late morning and does the switching somewhere between 11:00 -12:30. They tend to be out of there before 1:00 and head west on the Boonton Line. From what I've observed, they switch the warehouse on Riverview Drive first (boxcars), then head down to the runaround behind Furler St (between Minnisink Rd and Union Ave Totowa) then they head back and switch the building across the tracks on Maltese Dr. (covered hoppers)

OK...afaik...
Wash sec and Totowa Ind tracks owned by NS.. According to sources here...looks like the C&D consortium will operate these and bring cars to the M&E.

Chester, High bridge and D&R owned by Morris County. They are currently contracted to M&E. Dont know when that contract comes up. Based on chatter here...it seems like soon. and C&D has made an offer to operate these lines too. They may renew the contract w M&E idk,

Then theres track owned by NJT. Dont know if there any industries left on NJT tracks, but if so, thats a separate contract again,

AFAIK, anyway. I cud be wrong.

It appears the M&E "empire" has taken another serious hit. How much traffic will remain on the rump Morristown and Erie?
