Tier 4 units came to the Tier for the 1st time yesterday- on NS 310 and 28N. Information courtesy of several Facebook groups.

As per posts on Facebook, 205 and 206 are abolished as of today. 66N and 67N have been MIA lately as well and the traffic has been running recently on CSX.

Reportedly the 205/206 are now Buffalo-Chicago trains.
That now makes only 8 scheduled trains on the Tier between Buffalo - Binghamton.

Between Buffalo and Mechanicville, 22K and 28N will supposedly handle the traffic that was on 206, and 23K and 287 will handle the 205 traffic.

Due to a landslide on the Pittsburgh Line, NS is running several detours on the Tier. This includes 20W and I5Z (eye 5 z -an extra for 25Z).

The reported demise of the 205/206 has been greatly exaggerated. Still running. Even if they are combined it should be temporary. With the track blocks north of Binghamton one less pair of trains would ease the strain.

Agreed. There have been several posts on Facebook regarding NS 205 running Monday and NS 206 running yesterday on the TIer. One of the Monday posts even included a few photos from the Elmira area.

The OCS will be on the Tier this afternoon. The crew will report for duty at Bison Yard at 1 PM EDT.

OCS is scheduled to stop in Corning for the night, will arrive later this afternoon from Buffalo (Wednesday 8/3/2016)
and will probably park in the vicinity of Wardell street in Corning, at the old DL&W passenger station, so passengers can disembark and head over to Market street for the evening.

Then it will most likely back into Gang Mills yard for the night..

Then it is scheduled to leave Corning around 6am tomorrow (Thursday) morning, and run through to Binghamton, then up to Albany & Mechanicville.

The OCS did stop in Corning to refuel. However, the train continued onward after the task was complete. There were FB pics of the OCS on the Chemung RIver bridge in Elmira 90 minutes ago. There was also a crew change at Corning, so the train will NOT stop in Binghamton tonight.

The James E Strates Show train is underway on the eastern end of the Southern Tier Mainline. The NS crew will hand it over to NYSW at Port Jervis (due to the CNYK agreement), who in turn will hand it back to NS at Binghamton. The Strates train will then run to greater Buffalo in the middle of the night. They should hand it off to Buffalo Southern sometime tomorrow for delivery to the Erie County Fair in Hamburg. Happy hunting!

Can you point me to which FB page has the OCS pix taken in Elmira? Thanks.

At 0600, NS 950 OCS is waking up at Binghamton for today's adventure up and down the D&H.

Update edit: NS 950 OCS departed Binghamton at 0715 today with NS 4271+3 and 0x14 cars at 1,376 feet in length. I guess NS refers to occupied passenger cars as "empties?"

Plans changed yet again, so the OCS did stay in Binghamton last night.

Only thing that was changed was that they moved OCS from Corning to Binghamton for overnight.

CEO Squires stepped off at Corning and rode on SUV from Corning to Bingo. He wanted to sleep at Bingo.

NS 310 went into emergency in Addison yesterday, for reasons unknown. The South Street crossing was apparently blocked for several hours, according to a couple of FB reports.
