CSX Conductor school

Hey to all !! I am new to the forums here and I had a few questions I hope you all can help me with. I am about to apply with UNF railroad school and then try and get on with CSX. I have a few questions thou. I only want to work out of Rocky Mount NC, which CSX is recruiting for. How easy is it to get the assisgnment you want? Also what should I expect from the school and CSX? How soon does it take before CSX hires you to work for them? Is there anything I should do to prepare for school. ALso how is CSX to work for as a conductor, what about layoffs, and vacations etc etc. I know I need to study the signals and all which I will once i get in the program and get the study guides. Any information will greatly help. Thank you !
