Metro-North: New train cars, station upgrades on way
<SNIP>
The railroad is in line to receive $2.6 billion in funding as part of the MTA's $26.1 billion capital plan.

The Spring Valley station on the Pascack Valley Line will see its platform repaired and drainage improved in 2018.
"In a heavy downpour there are puddles all over," said John Hwang, who has commuted from the station for 48 years.
Historic buildings at the Ossining and Brewster stations will also get some Metro-North love in about two years. Each will have roof work, window upgrades and receive a coat of fresh paint.
In Ossining, changes are coming to the doors, waiting room and flooring as well. The ticket office and restrooms at Brewster will be rehabbed.
Fixes for the Mount Vernon West, Fleetwood, Bronxville and Tuckahoe stations are also planned but won't be done until after 2020 under the next capital plan. But three Harlem Line stations just to their south — Botanical Gardens, Williams Bridge and Woodlawn — will all have work done starting in 2017.

Repairing the repair shop: Work has been on-going at Metro-North's sprawling repair complex in Croton-on-Hudson for 15 years.
The railroad is now moving toward the final stage, the $465 million expansion of the 105-year-old Harmon Shop so electric train cars can finally be serviced in a modern facility. Replacing the dark, cramped quarters is expected to not only provide a safe workplace but boost productivity.
The project is expected to be completed in 2022.
Next stop, Willoughby
