Apparently it dropped off a retired gun barrel from like a ship or something and it will be trucked to Sandy Hook to be restored and put on display. The engines went back light about 10 minutes ago. They will come back down at some point and take the car back to Browns, though I'm not sure when.

Thanks again kid for your timely post on Friday. The moment I read it I grabbed my camera, umbrella and snow boots and shot over to Tinton Ave. I would have been too late had the train not stopped at Brick Recycling to pick up that gon.

Fantastic work, gentlemen, thanks very much for documenting these rare moves. Interesting how they left the Naval load in Pearl St. yard, but there's much more room to offload there than Southern yard, so I guess it makes sense. Nicely done......

No problem Big Blue! Glad you were able to get out and catch it.
I headed out on Friday to grab a slice From Tonys with hopes to catch the train at Brick Recycling before I had to go into work. Sure enough as I got out of my truck at the pizzeria I heard the horn blaring for the Main Street crossing. Luck of the draw I suppose!

Nice shots, Chris; the train is down a bit early today (in the clear on the Southern at about 1545), but work got in the way, so I have no further information.

Wow, talk about a nice surprise on Saturday. I obviously wasn't expecting a freight on the NJCL, but I had other things to keep busy with that day anyway.

Thanks for the update on the SA31 today. It was a weird weather day, with rain for about a minute or two randomly occurring throughout the day.
