A few comments and corrections.
Lady Penelope wrote:SP "Beach Grove"
Car name is BIRCH GROVE.
L&N "Oliver Hazard Perry"
Car is painted and lettered L&N but was originally a CN car, it was never owned by L&N
CMStP&P "Montero"
Car name is MONTANA.
Central Pacific "Promentory Point"
Car name is PROMONTORY POINT. Originally a Chicago & Eastern Illinois "PINE" series lightweight 6-4-6- sleeper, it was later converted to a business car, owned by Autoliner Corporation, MP and UP.
"Sierra Hotel" (must be owned by a fighter pilot)
For many years, the managing partner of the group that owns this car was a pilot, but he was not a fighter pilot. He flew cargo planes for USAF, then worked as a command pilot for American Airlines in international service. When he was a young man of college age, he worked summers for GN as a dining car waiter. After his retirement from American Airlines, he entered the seminary, was a ordained a Catholic priest and is now pastor of a parish church in Minnesota. Quite an interesting career!
