I don't think 512 and 513 are heritage units.

512 & 513 are NOT heritage units, however they show up on the heritageunits.com site. Perhaps because they are painted in Phase IV when that was still the standard loco paint scheme. But they are in that scheme simply because they have yet to be repainted into Phase V, not because of the 40th anniversary or anything.

Now what would REALLY make them heritage units is if Amtrak decided to paint them in the "Pepsi-Can" scheme!

512-513 are ACSES-equipped (required for operation between New Haven and Boston), but according to same site, they haven't ventured north of PA.

When did they equip 512-513 with ACSES? It must have been in the last few months.

No idea, but the info is on the site: gobytrain.us. Though the site hasn't been updated since last fall.

Even though this unit is probably not heritage related, I'm going to mention this for the sake of paint schemes. Eastbound Train # 42 has the 512 on the point as far as PHL today. I'm on it as we speak right now.
